Tiny Details

A leaf caught my attention as I walked around the park this morning with my camera. It had been a meal for an insect and the patterns created by the consumed portions caught my eye. So, I decided to take a couple of photos.

When I zoomed into one of the photos, I was astounded by what I saw. The small insect was still in one of the holes munching on the leaf. And perched one of the adjacent twigs were several small water droplets. These details were invisible to my unassisted vision. If I hadn’t noticed the patterns in the leaf and taken the photo, I would never have seen these tiny details.

Small patterns surround us each day. It may be the downcast look of a child. It may be the silence of someone not joining in the laughter. It may the slight frown during a staff meeting. It may be the slight upturn on the edge of someone’s lips. Pause. Notice. Then engage. This will allow you to zoom in a little closer to their hearts and see even greater details.
