I am amazed at how some people go through suffering. For many, suffering makes us callous, bitter, selfish, afraid, and angry. But there are some for whom suffering seems to bring forth strength, winsomeness, and deep character. And from what little I’ve seen, these qualities are won through a terrible battle with their own monsters. But the beauty that stands in the midst of the storm is breathtaking.
